Hi, I’m Ellie, a story-teller

the little brown camera

My love for photography began with a little brown camera. It belonged to my older brother and I would steal it from him every year when i'd leave for Summer camp. I'd tell the story of Kamp Kennessee through photos of sweet olympic day selfies and maybe a few too many talent show video clips. I used it so much that it became mine, (thanks Will), and little did I know that little brown camera started a collection that I couldn't have ever imagined. Thank you big brother for my very first photos.

my first job

The job that brought me here was one of grime, dirt and all things COUNTRY. Stephen hired me on to be his little assistant for his tractor "buy, sell and trade" business and I said yes having no idea what I was getting myself into. It was a gross job but it was an amazing job and the very best way to spend my last high school years. Stephen helped me make my very first business cards for photography and let me use his backyard as my family photoshoot locations. Cleaning tractors taught me hard work and grew my patience to no end. Thank you, uncle Bobby, for letting me learn by your side and for shaping a lot of who I am today.

My Family

my favorite people in the whole world

Holidays are my favorite because that means the whole Thorpe family gets to reunite. My family is made of some of my favorite people in the world and I truly do wish that everyone would be able to meet them. A day at the Thorpe house would most likely consist of chaos, Nertz, backyard fires, tears, Tennessee Vols watch parties, and lots and lots of chili (thank you dad). Thankful is an understatement.

Dear family,

Thank you for helping me become who I am today. I love y'all so much.
